- Pad.Ma PAD.MA is an online archive of densely text-annotated video material, primarily footage and not finished films. The entire collection is searchable and viewable online, and is free to download for non- commercial use. They use ogg theora ! :)

- Meta-cc seeks to create an open forum for real time discussion, commentary, and cross-refrencing of electronic news and televised media
- CNN++ alters real time news broadcasts allowing viewers to watch tv supplemented by google image and alternative news queries.
- Oxdb collects information from numerous sources including allmovies, wikipedia and the internet movie database, amongst others, and offers users the chance to search and organize it in interesting ways.

- granicus a small SF based company that specializes in online presence for local governments. Their streaming solutions integrate metadata searching and realtime playback with transcripts.
Audio/Video Indexing or Commenting Systems
- fora tv flash video political archive with transcripts.
- podzinger a system for searching video and audio "podcasts".
- informedia digital video library is a research project from Carnegie Mellon which works towards machine understanding of video and film media, for search, retrieval, visualization and summarization in both contemporaneous and archival content collections.
- blinkx a system for searching audio video streams on the internet/television.
- click.tv Click.TV is a user interface for web video that enables multi-user commenting on points inside a video. These comments become both hypertext links into the video and edited clips that can be "mashed" together to make condensed versions of videos.
