Its an extension to mediaWiki also extends semantic media wiki as you saw earlier with the semantic queries and is built on a lot of tools from the xiph foundation since we use (patented unencumbered) open source video and also use annodex technologies to structure metdata, serve up portions of ogg streams, and support in-browser playback through their ogg-plugin
